The Last Child of Time

My name is Alex. I am 20 and I live in Montana (don't judge, I didn't choose to live here.) I have many fandoms of which to speak. If you follow me I will follow you, but only if I like your blog. That is all. Enjoy!

REBLOGGING AGAIN FOR THE EXPLANATION

You meet a girl: shy, unassuming. If you tell her she’s beautiful, she’ll think you’re sweet, but she won’t believe you. She knows that beauty lies in your beholding. And sometimes that’s enough.

But there’s a better way. You show her she’s beautiful. Make mirrors of your eyes, prayers of your hands against her body. It is hard, very hard, but when she truly believes you… Suddenly the story she tells herself in her own head changes. She transforms. She isn’t seen as beautiful. She is beautiful, seen.

It’s like building a house. First you have to lay a brick on the ground, then another brick next to it, then another. Then you look over at your neighbor’s yard, and he’s putting the finishing touches on his mansion. How do you not look down at your three bricks and feel hopeless? You really have to remind yourself that five years ago, he started out just like you did. He succeeded because he concentrated on his goals and consistently kept his eyes on the next step. You have to do the same. Slow hard work is the only way to create something meaningful.
